Camping can be an amazing experience, but if you’re not prepared it can easily turn into an annoyance at best and a nightmare at worst. Here’s what to bring along for your next camping trip.

1. Flashlight

The moon and stars look beautiful at night, but they can be terrible sources of light. Seeing is essential for safety and convenience. Remember to bring one for each camper. Use a headlamp to keep your hands free.

2. OFF!

There’s nothing more annoying than mosquitoes. And there is nothing more dangerous! Mosquitoes are one of the most deadly animals on the planet. Protect yourself.

3. Reusable Water Bottles

Water is essential to life. Bringing a reusable water bottle can keep you safely hydrated and can cut down on waste. Get one you can clip onto a belt or bag for convenience.

4. Compass

Getting lost is a very real danger. Keeping a compass on you at all times can keep a quick trip into the woods from becoming a dangerous disaster. Keeping a map of the area on you can help you find your way back to your campsite or to help if you need it.

5. A long-sleeved shirt

It may be counter-intuitive when it’s hot out, but wearing a long-sleeved shirt can protect you against mosquitoes, poison ivy, and sunburn. A light-colored and lightweight shirt can be useful in summertime.

6. Toilet Paper

Need we say more? Nobody wants to use leaves.

7. Personal Medications

This seems like a no-brainer but it’s worth a mention. It’s surprising how easy it is to forget your medicine. Remember to bring them along or you could wind up in a terrible situation.

Don’t forget the perfect location.
